A pilot project of a new service mobile electronic signature (mobile ID) launched in Armenia
06 April 2018
One of the most important e-services in Yerevan today is the launch of the mobile ID pilot project.
mID is a tool that allows identification and signing of electronic documents without the need for special equipment and identification cards through the mobile phone. This is one of the best ways to save time.
The digital signature has been used in Armenia for a long time, and mobile e-signature or mobile ID is now available in Armenia thanks to the Electronic Governance Infrastructure Implementation Unit CJSC (EKENG CJSC), Nikita Mobile LLC and mobile operators.
All citizens should have an electronic digital signature (Government Decree No.572-N of May 25, 2017) when using online services of state and local self-government bodies online.
It is now testing a limited number of users and electronic service providers. In the near future, mobile electronic signature will be applicable both to state infrastructure and to private sectors.
After completing the mID test phase, the service will be fully ready for commercial launch.
The memorandum on cooperation was signed by EKENG CJSC, Nikita Mobile, VEON Armenia and Ucom.
