EKENG is a Closed Joint-Stock Company, registered in the Armenian State Register (n. 288.120.23877) as a commercial legal entity and the company is governed by the Armenia Civil Code and the Law on Joint-Stock Companies.
EKENG is providing services to governmental institutions of specific assignments and it is providing e-government services to other private clients, entities and private citizens.
EKENG is coordinating the overall implementation of e-Government Strategy in the Republic of Armenia. The company provides a common framework ensuring a general coherence among different information systems and allowing different entities of the Government of Armenia to coordinate not only the various e-Society initiatives, but also to align information systems with overall business goals, to ensure interoperability and to avoid duplicate investments. This will contribute to the roll out of applications across the government (and private sector) in a more efficient manner.
To start the process and the implementation of e-Society secure electronic means of identification are required to access public and private services. Therefore one of the company’s main projects is the introduction of electronic identification cards and biometric passports in order to equip citizens with identification and authentication tools.
EKENG is the only company in Armenia authorized to issue digital signatures to individuals and legal entities.
